The syllabary, presented in this section comes from Brixhe - Lejeune, Inscriptions paléo-phrygiennes, 280. Variantions are presented both in their most common context, from left to right, and in the the rarest context, from right to left. 17 signs seem to be inspired by a model of proto-Greek alphabet. Sign Nr. 18 does not appear in the earliest phase of the paleo-Phrygian writing system. Six letters are rare and of unknown value.
About the reconstruction and transliteration of the Phrygian signs into Latin letters see M. Lejeune, "Les inscriptions de Gordion et l'alphabet phrygien" Kadmos 9 (1970) 51-74 with a comment to R.S. Young, "Old Phrygian Inscriptions from Gordion; Toward a History of the Phrygian Alphabet" Hesperia 38 (1969) 252-269.
