The alphabet in Caria presents a more complex situation characterized by numerous local variations. A complete scheme can be seen in Adjego 2010. These variants nowhere reflect the Egyptian situation, with the exception of three inscriptions on ceramic shards from Caria of uncertain location (one might be from Halicarnassus).
